Welkom, willkommen, welcome!

I am eating german bread with (MMM, YUMMIE!) dutch cheese. Where am I?

Lets first start by saying: I am back home!!! (Home in the sense of my parents house in Germany) And yes, earlier than you thought I would be, if you consider my old planning. A planning is there to be changed though. :)

Surprise!
Only my dad knew that I was coming home last tuesday. In the last few days I have been surprising first my mom, then my brother and at last my sister and her boyfriend. And my little niece, who has been celebrating her second birthday that saturday!! It feels really good to be home again and see everyone.

So why did I come back earlier? Well, I'll tell you:

It has been enough! At one point my head was so full of wonderfull things, that there was no space left for new things. I was still enjoying things a lot, but just not as much as I should have. As I was trying to plan the last few weeks, I noticed how I missed the feeling of excitement you normally have when planning a new vacation or trip. Then, when I started to think about going home earlier and thus having to look for a job and beginning a normal boring life, I was actually looking forward to that! (Yes, talk to me again in a few weeks, I might have changed my mind already.)
At that moment I thought that the three weeks with my friends in Thailand and Laos would be a very good way to end my world trip. I looked for options to change my ticket and here I am!

Thank you all who have been reading and enjoying my blog. It has been a pleasure to write it and to read your reactions.

I hope to see you soon in real now!! Tong uitstekend

Pictures!

My dear friends have already arrived in holland again and so I thought it was time to at least show you some pictures!! It were 3 great weeks and we have done soo much! I'll write some more soon.

Pictures!!!

Here are the pictures of Thailand, of the last few days in Phosai.

And here are the pictures of my week in Cambodja!

Cambodia!

So I decided to go to Cambodia for one week! To enjoy the country and to renew my visa for Thailand at the same time. :)

About Cambodia

Corruption and chaos, friendly people and good food, annoyance and sadness, fruitshakes and big markets. Thats whats Cambodia to me now. I think I had at least 2 fruit shakes every day untill now, they are awesome and not expensive. At the border you always pay more than you actually should and there is no way out.
The people are diverse! Those that know what tourism can get them will try to get as much money of you as they can and mothers use their kids to sell and beg money or food from the tourist. And its not like it just happens now and then, no it occurs on every street corner, everytime you eat something, pay something or just walk somewhere. Angkor Wat was very full of kids who had learned the needed english words to say "only one dollar lady, you buy from me? Please buy from me." Very sad to see their sweet faces, but buying from a kid will only encourage them to let the kids sell all the time so you just try to get rid of them nicely, which is not easy and will test you on your nerves of staying calm and friendly. Because quite frankly, all the begging and trying to sell, and also the tuktuk drivers trying to get a job out of you, it is all very sad and pitying, but as much as that also annoying. Which is sad, because now I am not even tempted to buy anything from them!

Saying goodbye in Phosai

Pictures will follow some later...

Last days in Phosai

In the house where I was living everybody was now motivated to learn english to be able to say something to me. When I was teaching Toon a bit, her aunt and her cousin came along too and joined in a bit. Her aunt came over from time to time to say something to me in english. Very funny!! Even the dad of Pim and Toon was suddenly trying to pronounce a few words. The most touching was when he was trying to say: Misch yoo. Everybody knew those words at the end and they were said a lot, from me and from the familie and neighbours of the house.
